Soccer Game Preview: York Country Day vs. Shalom Christian Academy

York Country Day will take on the Shalom Christian Academy Flames at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, York Country Day turned things around against Christian School of York on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Defenders 3-2.

York Country Day was without their leading scorer, Logan Shrader, in Friday's matchup. With Shrader sidelined, York Country Day had to make some big changes to the lineup. Three players hit the pitch for the first time this season: Michael Aryee, Brian Mwayuli, and Tristan Morgan. Mwayuli made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal and one assist A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Shalom Christian Academy was forced to settle for a draw. They and West Shore Christian Academy finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw on Thursday.

Shalom Christian Academy's draw gives them a new season record of 8-8-1. As for York Country Day, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.
