Vernon-Verona-Sherrill has struggled against Holland Patent recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill saw an underclassman step up: Jack Marshall scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marshall has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Kinne, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Vernon-Verona-Sherrill's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Holland Patent, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Oneida the next time they take the court. Vernon-Verona-Sherrill will host Oneida at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Holland Patent will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
