The Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Holland Patent, falling 89-42. Vernon-Verona-Sherrill has struggled against Holland Patent recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill saw an underclassman step up: Jack Marshall scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marshall has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Kinne, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.

Vernon-Verona-Sherrill's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Holland Patent, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
