Basketball Recap: Semaj Hart's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Forestview over Kings Mountain

Forestview lost against Kings Mountain back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Forestview Jaguars fell to the Kings Mountain Mountaineers 65-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (56), the Jaguars still had to take the loss.

Forestview's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Semaj Hart, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 19 points. That's the most points Hart has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Daijhon Young, who went 5 of 7 en route to 10 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Kee'Donn Linney continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kings Mountain, almost dropping a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds. Linney's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Silas Tate, who posted nine points and seven assists.

Forestview has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Kings Mountain, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Forestview will be playing in front of their home fans against Huss at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Forestview knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Huss likes a good challenge. Kings Mountain has already played their next match, a 60-57 win against Crest on the 22nd.
