Soccer Game Preview: Sumter vs. Manning

The Sumter Gamecocks will face off against the Manning Monarchs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sumter will be strutting in after a win while Manning will be coming in after a loss.

Sumter is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They came out on top against Westwood by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Sumter with their most commanding win of the season.

Alfredo Gutierrez and Alexander Krivejko scored all three of Sumter's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, Manning was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against West Ashley, falling 14-1.

Sumter is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Manning, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Everything went Sumter's way against Manning when the teams last played back in April of 2017, as Sumter made off with a 9-0 victory. Do the Gamecocks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Monarchs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
