Recap: Bonita Springs Bullsharks vs. Island Coast Gators
The Bonita Springs Bullsharks were the 52-36 winner over the Island Coast Gators when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. Bonita Springs fell 36-29 to Island Coast on Thursday. Bonita Springs has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Island Coast found their leader in underclassman Samarrah Desir, who scored 23 points. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Curry, who scored nine points.
Bonita Springs' defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.0 points per game. As for Island Coast, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonita Springs will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
