Baseball Recap: South Davidson Has No Trouble Against Albemarle

South Davidson won the last time they faced Albemarle and things went their way on Friday too. The South Davidson Wildcats blew past the Albemarle Bulldogs 16-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Dallas Mantz made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Mantz was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Myles Scercy, who scored three runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Zander Floyd was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

South Davidson's record is now 2-0. As for Albemarle, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, South Davidson will be playing at home against South Stokes at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Albemarle, they will take on North Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
