Basketball Recap: Mid-Prairie's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

It was a good run, but Mid-Prairie unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Wilton Beavers by a score of 85-82. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Golden Hawks came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Beavers are ranked 309th).

Mid-Prairie's loss dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Wilton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-14.

Mid-Prairie will challenge Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Mid-Prairie knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Washington likes a good challenge. As for Wilton, they will head out on the road to challenge West Branch at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th.
