Basketball Recap: Cottage Grove Comes Up Short

Cottage Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 60-49 to the Marshfield Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, with their most recent defeat being a 79-48 loss back in January.

Cottage Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Marshfield, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 20-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions take on the Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Marshfield, they are taking a road trip to square off against Marist at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Marist is on a three-game streak of home wins, Marshfield a nine-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
