Recap: Central Rebels vs. Saxony Lutheran Crusaders
The Central Rebels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Saxony Lutheran 72-51. Winning may never get old, but Central sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Saxony Lutheran's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Evie Caruso, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, and Rebecca Johnson who scored 17 points. The match was Johnson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Abigail Haley was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Saxony Lutheran, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.
Central is on the road again on Thursday and play against Farmington at 7:30 p.m. on January 11th. As for Saxony Lutheran, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against St. Paul Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. St. Paul Lutheran will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 440th, while Saxony Lutheran is ranked 101st).
