Football Recap: Skyview Wolverines vs. Evergreen Cougars
Skyview lost against Evergreen back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wolverines had to suffer through a 56-13 loss at the hands of the Cougars. The Wolverines were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-13.
Evergreen found their leader in sophomore Tom Van Den Bos, who threw for 405 yards and six TDs while picking up 15.0 yards per attempt. Those 405 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Van Den Bos. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianni Volpe, who gained 108 total yards and a touchdown.
This is the second loss in a row for Skyview and nudges their season record down to 3-4. As for Evergreen, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Skyview will venture away from home to face off against Wheat Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Evergreen, they will head out on the road to take on Green Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
