Basketball Recap: Maple River Comes Up Short

Maple River was the 69-40 winner over Blue Earth when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Maple River Eagles took a 63-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Earth Buccaneers on Friday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maple River's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Blue Earth, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-8 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maple River will head out to square off against Hatton/Northwood at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Blue Earth, they will take on St. Peter at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in St. Peter's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
