Basketball Recap: Saltillo Comes Up Short

Saltillo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to Lake Cormorant. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to Lake Cormorant from their previous meeting back in February.

Despite the defeat, Saltillo had strong showings from Crayden Shannon, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds, and Jack Conner Howell, who posted 12 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Moore, who put up two points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Saltillo's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Lake Cormorant, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Saltillo will venture away from home to take on East Union at 7:00 p.m. on December 17th. Saltillo is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.7 points per game this season. As for Lake Cormorant, they will square off against Olive Branch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Olive Branch's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups.
