Basketball Game Preview: Shorecrest Prep Chargers vs. Tampa Prep Terrapins

Shorecrest Prep hasn't had much luck against Tampa Prep recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Shorecrest Prep Chargers will host the Tampa Prep Terrapins at 7:30 p.m. Shorecrest Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Shorecrest Prep came up short against Calvary Christian and fell 60-52. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Warriors are ranked 37th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Nickolas Bearden, who posted 19 points. That was a full 36.5% of Shorecrest Prep's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Wesley Ryan, who scored 12 points.

Meanwhile, Tampa Prep waltzed into their contest on Thursday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Falcons 65-27. The Terrapins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 24 points or more this season.

Shorecrest Prep's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-2. As for Tampa Prep, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home.
