Softball Recap: Saks Wildcats vs. Jacksonville Golden Eagles
After flying high against Talladega last Monday, Saks came back down to earth. The Saks Wildcats came up short against the Jacksonville Golden Eagles on Tuesday, falling 18-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-8 last Tuesday.
Ava Snead was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kendal Harris, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI.
Even though they lost, Saks always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Saks dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Jacksonville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.
Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Saks Wildcats challenge Cleburne County Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jacksonville, they will face off against Wellborn at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
