Softball Recap: Monroe-Woodbury's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Monroe-Woodbury won the last time they faced Kingston and things went their way on Friday too. The Crusaders were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Tigers. The Crusaders' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Gabby Schaeffer was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run and three runs. Callie Exarchakis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Monroe-Woodbury was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Monroe-Woodbury's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Kingston, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monroe-Woodbury will square off against Goshen Central at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. The Gladiators will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Crusaders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Kingston, they will challenge Warwick at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
