Volleyball Recap: Chesapeake's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Chesapeake waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Portsmouth Trojans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-16, 27-29, 25-22.

Abby Iden paced Chesapeake's offense, picking up 11 kills. Iden got some help from Lila Ferguson and her 27 assists. Erin Wood controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Chesapeake's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Portsmouth, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Chesapeake will challenge rival Fairland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Portsmouth is set to square off against their familiar foe Gallia Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
