Volleyball Game Preview: St. Lucy's Regents vs. Chino Hills Huskies

The St. Lucy's Regents will face off against the Chino Hills Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Lucy's is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

St. Lucy's tournament run continued when they took on Arcadia on Saturday. The Regents fell 2-0 to the Apaches.

Meanwhile, Chino Hills didn't have quite enough to beat Etiwanda on Thursday and fell 3-2. The Huskies have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Chino Hills wouldn't go down easily and took Etiwanda into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-10, 25-21, 23-25, 15-8.

St. Lucy's will have to keep a close watch on Yanizza Gutierrez and Natalia Pochay, a pair of players who had a big impact on Chino Hills' prior game. Gutierrez had 23 digs and two assists, while Pochay had five digs and four aces. Gutierrez has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last nine times she's played. Haven Jones also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

St. Lucy's loss dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Chino Hills, they now have a losing record of 13-14.
