Baseball Recap: Germantown Snags Tenth Victory in Last 11 Games

Germantown never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Nicolet Knights. The Warhawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Lucas Frank looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Vinny Inga, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Olszewski, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Germantown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matches.

Germantown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Nicolet, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Germantown will host Whitefish Bay at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warhawks 2.4, the Blue Dukes 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Nicolet, they will square off against Milwaukee King at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
