Preview: Ocean View Seahawks vs. Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies
Ocean View is 8-2 against Godinez Fundamental since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Ocean View might have lost, but man, Brayden Ackerman was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds. Ackerman hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Blake Girotti, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Godinez Fundamental had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.9 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They came out on top against Segerstrom by a score of 56-48. Given Godinez Fundamental's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 401st, while Segerstrom is ranked 900th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ocean View has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season. As for Godinez Fundamental, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-6.
