Basketball Recap: Rebecca Neal's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Highland over Grants

Highland was the 58-45 winner over Grants when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Highland Hornets took a 52-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grants Pirates on Friday.

Highland lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Rebecca Neal, who posted five points along with 17 boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Breanna Payton, who went 6-for-13 on her way to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Highland has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season. As for Grants, their win bumped their record up to 10-15.

Coming up, Highland will be playing at home against Valencia at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Grants, they will head out on the road to challenge Belen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grants is facing Belen at the right time seeing as Belen is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
