Basketball Recap: Sweet Water Comes Up Short

Sweet Water was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Choctaw County Tigers and fell 68-38. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-39 last Tuesday.

Leading Choctaw County to victory were Jarrod Chaney and Daylen Blakley. Chaney almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, nine rebounds, and 11 assists, while Blakley went 8 for 17 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Those nine boards gave Chaney a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaydon Thomas, who went 5 of 11 en route to 10 points.

Sweet Water's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Choctaw County, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-12.

Sweet Water wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-41 defeat against Marengo on the 23rd. Choctaw County has also already played their next contest (against University Charter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
