Volleyball Recap: Axtell Comes Up Short

Axtell suffered their biggest defeat since September 11th on Monday. They came up short against the Amherst Broncos, falling 3-0. The Wildcats have struggled against the Broncos recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-6, 25-10.

Addyson Skaggs paced Axtell's offense, picking up seven kills. Skaggs got some help from Madison Wells and her 11 assists.

Breckyn Layne Veskerna had a dynamite game For Amherst., getting 28 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Layne Veskerna has posted since October 2nd. Kenna Hagan was another key player, getting 11 assists.

Axtell's loss dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Amherst, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-5.

Axtell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Amherst, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Overton on the 28th.
