Softball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for North Haven

North Haven won the last time they faced West Haven and things went their way on Saturday too. The Nighthawks' pitchers stepped up to hand the Blue Devils a 15-0 shutout. With that win, the Nighthawks brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Alyssa DiGiovanna, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Alyssa Ferriouolo was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for North Haven and bumps their season record up to 2-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for West Haven, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Haven will head out to face off against Foran at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Lions will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Nighthawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Haven, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Sheehan at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.4 runs per game on average), something the Blue Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of.
