Softball Recap: Taft Takes a Loss

Taft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Lompoc Braves, falling 10-0. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2016.

Taft's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Lompoc, they moved to 11-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taft will face off against Shafter at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Generals have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Lompoc, they will venture away from home to square off against Arroyo Grande at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Eagles have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
