Baseball Game Preview: Fairfield Falcons vs. Wawasee Warriors

The Fairfield Falcons will take on the Wawasee Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Norwell hit Fairfield with a 12-run first inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons lost 17-2 to the Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Falcons have suffered since April 29th.

Fairfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Beachy, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Concord hit Wawasee with a eight-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors came up short against the Minutemen, falling 12-2. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mark Haynes was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles. Luke Lehman was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Wawasee's defeat dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Fairfield, their loss dropped their record down to 18-8.

Fairfield skirted past Wawasee 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
