Basketball Recap: Sacred Heart Picks Up 17th Consecutive Win

Sacred Heart came tearing into Wednesday's game with 16 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the George Rogers Clark Cardinals by a score of 80-68. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 68-42 two weeks ago.

Leading Sacred Heart to victory were Amirah 'Tootie' Jordan and ZaKiyah Johnson. Jordan posted 28 points in addition to seven assists and five steals, while Johnson shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double with 26 points and nine boards. The match was Johnson's 22nd in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Morgan Frey, who went 5-for-9 en route to 11 points and eight rebounds.

Sacred Heart pushed their record up to 22-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for George Rogers Clark, their loss dropped their record down to 17-7.
