Baseball Game Preview: Poultney Blue Devils vs. Whitehall Railroaders

The Poultney Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Whitehall Railroaders at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Poultney will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Poultney had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Proctor on Tuesday. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Phantoms. The Blue Devils' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Whitehall, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-5 margin over Corinth on Monday. That 13-run margin sets a new team best for the Railroaders this season.

Poultney's record is now 2-4. As for Whitehall, they moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Poultney suffered a grim 20-11 defeat to Whitehall in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
