Softball Game Preview: Trinity Tigers vs. Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls

Trinity hasn't had much luck against Anderson-Shiro recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Trinity will look to defend their home field against Anderson-Shiro at 5:00 p.m. Anderson-Shiro took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Trinity, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Trinity duked it out with Onalaska on Monday. Trinity put the hurt on Onalaska with a sharp 8-1 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Anderson-Shiro's offense. They lost 6-0 to Coldspring-Oakhurst on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Fighting Owls' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

The win made it two in a row for Trinity and bumps their season record up to 5-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Anderson-Shiro, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-4.

Trinity suffered a grim 21-4 defeat to Anderson-Shiro when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Trinity avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
