Baseball Recap: Chief Sealth Wins Going Away Against Cleveland

Chief Sealth got themselves on the board against Cleveland on Friday, but Cleveland never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 12-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Seahawks needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Ford Rains made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

In other pitching news, Peter Sketchly looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Nolan Vanbuskirk was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 5-for-5. Julian Reinhardt was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Chief Sealth was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .425. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Chief Sealth's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-3. As for Cleveland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.
