Softball Recap: Sharon's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

After flying high against Hubbard on Saturday, Sharon came back down to earth. Sharon fell just short of Hubbard by a score of 5-4 on Saturday. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Claire Bodien spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (one).

On the hitting side, Marley Bundrant was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Addie McFann was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sharon fell to 4-1. As for Hubbard, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sharon will head out to challenge Franklin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give Sharon their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Hubbard, they will challenge Poland Seminary at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
