Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Pierce Cardinals vs. Steilacoom Sentinels

The Franklin Pierce Cardinals are taking a road trip to challenge the Steilacoom Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Franklin Pierce had to suffer through a 67-22 loss at the hands of Eatonville. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Cruisers are ranked 64th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Steilacoom). They blew past Washington 59-31 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Sentinels as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

This is the second loss in a row for Franklin Pierce and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Steilacoom, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

Franklin Pierce took a serious blow against Steilacoom in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 66-25. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Franklin Pierce was down 43-17.
