Baseball Recap: Cox Mill Comes Up Short

Cox Mill suffered their biggest loss since April 17, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 15-6 to the East Rowan Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chargers of the 10-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2020.

Cox Mill got a good showing from Carson Welker, who tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Drew Bonhag made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Tyler Cartee was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

With the loss, Cox Mill broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2. As for East Rowan, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Cox Mill wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 9-1 win against West Cabarrus on the 18th. As for East Rowan, they have also already played their next game, a 13-6 victory against Lake Norman on the 12th.
