Recap: Northeast Nodaway Blue Jays vs. Worth County Tigers
This season hasn't been kind to the Northeast Nodaway Blue Jays, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They were dealt a 65-25 defeat at the hands of Worth County on Tuesday. Northeast Nodaway lost against Worth County in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 53-47 score last time.
Worth County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler New, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which New has scored at least 25% of Worth County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Ruby, who scored 16 points.
Northeast Nodaway's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Worth County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northeast Nodaway will take on Stanberry at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Stanberry is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Worth County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against King City at 7:30 p.m.
