Soccer Recap: Pittsburg Comes Up Short

Pittsburg lost against Sulphur Springs back in March of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pittsburg Pirates came up short against the Sulphur Springs Wildcats, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 581st, while the Wildcats are ranked 219th).

Pittsburg has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Sulphur Springs, they pushed their record up to 10-3-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pittsburg will head out to face off against Pleasant Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. Paris will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Sulphur Springs surely won't give up without a fight.
