Baseball Recap: Summerfield Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Summerfield barely beat Lenawee Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Cougars on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Jude Flowers was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Flowers was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

In other batting news, Summerfield got a big performance out of Rylee Schiffler, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave Schiffler a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Russell LaRocca, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

Summerfield pushed their record up to 13-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lenawee Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

As of now, neither Summerfield nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
