Basketball Recap: Shenandoah Raiders vs. Wapahani Raiders

The Wapahani Raiders typically have all the answers at home, but on Thursday the Shenandoah Raiders proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 46-39. For Shenandoah, this counts as revenge for the 55-43 loss the Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shenandoah to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabbi Patrick, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Lee, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Despite the loss, Wapahani saw an underclassman step up: Emily Luce scored 13 points along with three steals and two blocks. Luce is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Megan Luce was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Shenandoah now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Wapahani, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-7.

Shenandoah will take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Knightstown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Monday. As for Wapahani, they will square off against the Golden Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Monroe Central is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road.
