Football Recap: Ottawa Hills Falls to Gibsonburg in First Game of Season

Ottawa Hills unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 49-14 defeat at the hands of the Gibsonburg Golden Bears on Friday. If the Green Bears were looking for revenge after losing 26-7 to the Golden Bears when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ottawa Hills and Gibsonburg should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Green Bears will challenge Evergreen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (211 vs. 431). Meanwhile, Gibsonburg (ranked 271st) will meet Rogers (ranked 593rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
