Wakefield has gone 9-1 against Yorktown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Wakefield Warriors will challenge the Yorktown Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Wakefield beat McLean 55-51. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Meanwhile, Yorktown had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.6 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They secured a 65-60 W over the Saxons. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Saxons are ranked 254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Yorktown pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Wakefield, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.

Wakefield beat Yorktown 69-59 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wakefield since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
