Basketball Recap: Charleston Comes Up Short

Charleston suffered their biggest loss since January 9th on Thursday. They took a blow against the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes, falling 63-32. The match marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler Oakley, who posted 14 points. That was a full 43.8% of Charleston's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Hudson Meister, who scored six points.

Charleston's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Teutopolis, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Charleston won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Belvidere at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Charleston is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season. As for Teutopolis, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Monticello at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
