Volleyball Recap: Midlothian Comes Up Short

Midlothian was the 2-1 winner over Birdville when they last played one another back in August of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Midlothian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kyleigh Shaw had 19 assists and five digs. Taylor Trice also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Midlothian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Birdville, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-4.

Coming up, Midlothian will welcome Aledo at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Birdville, they will face off against Boswell at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
