Hastings saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Scott Sanders, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Miles Lipsey also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

As for Marshall, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games.

On Marshall's side, Brandon Baker looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Baker has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Landon Lewis was incredible, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Cruz Saldana was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Coming up, Hastings will face off against Ionia at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Saxons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Marshall, they will square off against Harper Creek at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
