Baseball Game Preview: North Clarion Wolves vs. Clarion-Limestone Lions

North Clarion is 1-9 against Clarion-Limestone since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the Lions at 4:15 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

North Clarion fell victim to Oil City and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 7-0 to the Oilers.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Clarion-Limestone duked it out with DuBois Central Catholic on Saturday. The Lions came up short against the Cardinals, falling 10-0.

Clarion-Limestone's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for North Clarion, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

North Clarion's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's contest. The Wolves have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Clarion-Limestone, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will North Clarion continue to outrun the ball?

North Clarion suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Clarion-Limestone in their previous matchup last Wednesday. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
