Baseball Game Preview: Aledo Bearcats vs. Azle Hornets

For the second straight game, Aledo will face off against Azle. The Bearcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Aledo will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Aledo beat Azle 5-2.

Luke Sandefur looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lucas Nawrocki, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Duran, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Aledo pushed their record up to 20-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Azle, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-13 record this season.
