Basketball Recap: Will Jones JR. Key Part of a Team Effort in Tritons Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Pacifica ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Buena Bulldogs, sneaking past 82-80. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 71-64 back in January.

Pacifica's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Will Jones JR., who posted 26 points and seven rebounds. What's more, Jones JR. also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tommy Williams, who earned 17 points and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Buena lost, don't look at Rook Johnson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 41 points and 16 boards. Josh Toll was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Pacifica moved to 10-16 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Buena, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-20.

Pacifica wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-60 loss against Dos Pueblos on the 31st. Buena has also already played their next game, a 60-33 defeat against San Marcos on the 31st.
