Recap: Antelope Titans vs. Woodcreek Timberwolves
The Antelope Titans fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Woodcreek Timberwolves on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Timberwolves by a score of 62-59. Antelope's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Despite the loss, Antelope still got an impressive performance from Logan Melton, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 4 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Melton has scored all season. Aj Cook was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Aidan Triplet was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points for Woodcreek. Triplet has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Joey Nielsen, who scored 12 points.
Antelope has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season. As for Woodcreek, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-5.
Antelope will head out on the road to challenge Bella Vista at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bella Vista will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 585th, while Antelope is ranked 274th). As for Woodcreek, they will be playing at home against Yuba City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Yuba City has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 30.
