Softball Recap: Simpson Comes Up Short

Simpson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ouachita Christian Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Broncos have suffered since March 18, 2025.

Simpson's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Ouachita Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Simpson will head out to face off against Pleasant Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ouachita Christian, they will take on Ouachita Parish at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
