Baseball Game Preview: Morristown Yellow Jackets vs. Hauser Jets

Morristown hasn't had much luck against Hauser recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Yellow Jackets will take on the Jets at 5:30 p.m.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Morristown and Waldron, and Waldron kept the tradition alive. The Yellow Jackets took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mohawks on Friday.

Meanwhile, Hauser waltzed into their match on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. Four seems to be a good number for the Jets as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The result came thanks to Simeon Wasil's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 15 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hauser saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was R.J. Foster, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Peyton Bennett also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Hauser pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Morristown, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

Morristown suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Hauser when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
