Basketball Recap: Newport Takes a Loss

Newport lost against St. George back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Newport Grizzlies were dealt a 57-18 loss at the hands of the St. George's Dragons. The Grizzlies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-5.

Newport's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-15. As for St. George's, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-11.

When Newport and St. George's next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Newport will square off against Davenport and their seven-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, St. George's will try to stop Northwest Christian School's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
