Baseball Recap: Montclair Extends Winning Streak to Three

Montclair waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Garfield Boilermakers 18-8. The Mounties not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 4th (when they won 12-0).

Kody Nesbitt was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Jayden Williams also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Montclair hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Garfield struck out nine times.

Montclair's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Garfield, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montclair will challenge Johnson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Crusaders have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Garfield, they will square off against Weehawken at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
