Basketball Recap: Denfeld Comes Up Short

Denfeld lost to Duluth East back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hunters fell 65-59 to the Greyhounds. The Hunters have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Denfeld still got an impressive performance from Maurissa Hendricks, who almost dropped a double-double with 29 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Nylund, who posted 16 points and four steals.

Denfeld's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Duluth East, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 2-5 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Denfeld will face off against Two Harbors at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2026. As for Duluth East, they will challenge Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] at 1:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
